Call to Artists! Anonymously Altered

Call to artists!
Hi all creative folks!  The Adobe Books Backroom Gallery is in need of your help.  We’re putting together a fundraiser in order to be of better service to our exhibiting artists and afford some essentials like drywall spackel, paint, and nails.  We’re asking artists to come into the store during the month of November (beginning November 1st) and pick up a book from our “Anonymously Altered” books bin to transform into a work of art. You can cut, carve, paint, draw, tear, or drill your book; simply create a new cover for it or transform it into something no longer recognizable as a book. It’s up to you.  When you are finished, you’ll bring your book back to the store by December 1st, to be sold to adoring fans at a reasonable price for the holidays. Also, all artists in this project are anonymous until the piece is bought. So viewers will not know it’s made by you until they buy the work and receive your name and statement for the piece, put on a library card to go in or with the book after purchase. Thanks in advance for your artistic donation and for your help in keeping Adobe Books Backroom Gallery in the black this holiday season!
Important dates:
  • Pick up your book November 1st-30th in the store, tell the cashier what number book you took and your name/contact info
  • Drop off your altered book by December 1st to the store, give the library card that came with your book to the cashier, filled out with your name and title for your piece
  • Promote the sale of these to all of your friends and fans, pieces will be sold during the month of December.
