Opening Reception February 6th, 6-9pm
Adobe Books Backroom Gallery is pleased to present Mostly True, an exhibition that showcases 5 artists from Bill Daniel’s book of the same name. A 72 year old railroad worker tells his own stories of drawing and working on the railroad for over 40 years through paintings and photographs. Also on view are works by younger generation artists who chose to draw and send messages on trains that travel the whole northern continent.
A chronicle of the images, interviews, and lore, the book is a compilation of railroad ephemera and folklore collected by filmmaker and author Bill Daniel while filming his amazing film Who’s Bozo Texino? The exhibition takes a similar approach, paying homage to the legendary scrawlers who for the last 60 years decorated America’s freight-trains.
