The Love Letters Project

Since February of 2013 Angi Brzycki been typing love letters, making 100 copies and anonymously inserting them in the SF weekly on Wednesday. Some of the letters have been previously written at some point in history.

The motivation to do this was in a sense to bring love back. Love Letters is inspired by conceptual and installation art. Brzycki wanted to set up an intimate experience for a stranger. Inserting the letters in the SF weekly was an easy and effective way of getting them out in the city. It allowed anyone that picked up the paper the chance to discover a letter. Brzycki does not give any indication of who wrote the letter or what the letter is intended for. Her objective is for the person to have their own individual experience without interference or self-promotion.

In February 2014 (1 year anniversary of the project) all of the letters will framed and exhibited in Adobe Bookstore located in the Mission District of San Francisco, California. On February 14th, 2014 (Valentine’s Day) the artist will host a reception and book release party at Adobe.

We hope to see you there!
