Experimental Notations – Open Call for Submissions
Experimental Notations: an installation of sound and its corresponding graphic notation. Graphic notation is the visual re-imagining of the traditional system of musical notation. Curated by Jeff Ray, Chris Duncan, and Sarah Lockhart.

Deadline for Submission: Midnight, July 25, 2013
Please submit a piece of original music and its accompanying graphic score, notation, or visual response. The composition can be any piece of original music of any genre, including noise and soundscapes. The visual aspect of the installation may consist of any media including drawing, painting, video, sculpture, or performance. Collaborations are acceptable.
PLEASE NOTE: The materials and size of the piece is limited due to the size of the galleries. The sound source must be on headphones and artists are responsible for providing all necessary audio equipment.
Only emailed and invited submissions will be considered. In special cases a description of the piece and promise to create the piece will be accepted.
Checklist of application materials:
- 4 images (jpegs: 72dpi, 600×800 pixels max AND/OR 3-minute video clip on quicktime or link.
- Artist resume (1-2 page max)
- Artist Statement (1 page max) relating directly to Experimental Notations
- Sound cloud link to examples of musical composition
